Bills vs Lions: So the Bills one week after playing a home game in Detroit get to play there again. This time it’s their regular tendons in the Lions that are the ones with the home crowd in their favor. However I shouldn’t say that, because BillsMafia as expected took over Ford Field. The game itself was a very close game from start to finish. Detroit somehow keeps up with another top offense for 60 minutes. But can they pull it out? They are doing a good job keeping up. But late in the game they made one mistake. Going for the home run on a 3rd and 1 with 30 seconds left. They should have gone for the easy first down, but Jared Goff wanted to end it now. They did get the tying field goal. But only seconds later. HERE I COME TO SAVE THE DAY! Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs bail out Buffalo yet again. When will people learn not to play prevent defense when a team needs 30 yards. “From 45 yards the kick, IS GOOD!” The Bills win the game and stay within striking range of the Dolphins for 1st in the AFC South. It does come at a cost. BOOM! Von Miller. He could be out long term. This is why you don’t pay $20M a year for a guy who is 33 years old. Do you want another Jeff Skinner contract Pegulas?
Giants vs Cowboys: We have come to a conclusion, for the first time in Bragging Rights Sports History, we are going to separate a game that isn’t related to Charm City Beasts. You can thank the Salty Marylander taking a Thanksgiving Vacation in Dallas. And Turkey Day at JerryWorld always is a big deal, that too.
Patriots vs Vikings: Man this Thanksgiving brought us some good football. This game was Exhibit A. Both the Vikings and Patriots traded blows all night. Kirk Cousins and Mac Jones each carved up the other defense. But in the end the Turducken shall be awarded to Minnesota. Justin Jefferson went off, again. Something about LSU WRs being dominant in a scheme that fits their strengths. (Something the NFL has seen a lot over the past decade) The real hero of this game. REFBALL. The Patriots were denied in a big way. A controversial call robbing them of a TD, and the same with roughing the kicker. The NFL wants the man with the Griddy to rule whoever he faces. That’s what happened. Too bad Belichick, sometimes those that get all the calls get karma in their face.
Texans vs Dolphins: Why do I need to do much of a recap on this game? Miami toyed with the tank of tanks all day long. In another shocking segment Davis Mills was benched for Kyle Allen. Nothing screams Suck for Stroud than that decision. If you think the offense was bad for the Texans, their D was worse. Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle had freedom all day. The Dolphins only put up 30 points. This could have been worse. With that Miami maintains 1st place in the AFC East. The Texans well they become the first team eliminated.
Texans ELIMINATED (NO SOUP FOR YOU HOUSTON!) A tanking team being the first ones out of the playoffs, this one I saw coming right from Day 1. They want to build for the future to be fair, it’s the right thing. How much damage did Bill O’Brien have on the organization?
Bears vs Jets: The Jets one week after putting Zach Wilson on the bench made the executive decision to put in the man that knocked off Cincinnati last year. Mike White. (Not that Mike White of course) It appears that he didn’t lose a step from last year. Even in horrible conditions, he had a solid game. 3 TDs and 300 yards passing. The Bears are without Justin Fields so that’ll make things easier for Jets fans. Even if they had a botched field goal that earned FOOTBALL FOLLIE of the Week, it didn’t matter. Zach Wilson, your starting job for the future is up for grabs, if White continues to play like this, I don’t see him getting his job back. THE NEW YORK JETS EVERYONE! Only this time they are playoff contenders. Who knew that could happen?
Falcons vs Commanders: If it weren’t for that Damn Good Culture of the Commanders, more and more people would be paying attention to them in a good way. Even if they botched the Sean Taylor Memorial on the concourse at FedEx Field, Washington must maintain their hopes of a playoff berth. Against a Falcons team trying to overtake the Buccaneers in their division, they need all the advantages they can get. This may be close, but the Commies are starting to pull away in the end. Up by 6 late in the game, they should be able to kill the clock. They didn’t. Well, at least their defense can try and stop Atlanta. Welp this is gonna end badly for Dan Snyder, 2 Legit 2 Quit is getting revenge for 91! Mariota, the pass is deflected in the air, AND IT’S PICKED OFF!” Too bad Falcons, your traditions of choking games returned.
Broncos vs Panthers: Carolina had a solid defensive outing against Baltimore even in defeat. They continued that hot streak against the Broncos. Who cares if Denver has no run game or line, the Panthers need to give themselves some confidence. Not only for next year, but to keep their slim hopes of the NFC South title alive. Baker Mayfield was benched for Sam Darnold. And Denver made him look like the QB he was at USC. That right there says it all. The man that John Elway paid the future for, was outplayed by one of the biggest busts of the past decade. This is the 2nd coming of the Herschel Walker Trade. Seattle’s 1st Round pick only improves with games like this. I wonder who the Broncos get next week? The Ravens, and their alumni is going to be there. Yeah. (And they’ll be ticked off too)
Buccaneers vs Browns: The last game for the Browns before Watson returns. They need this to keep their slim playoff hopes alive. Against the Buccaneers they’ll need help from REFBALL and the Bucs offense being off to win. Tampa Bay may have the lead for much of this game, but they can’t put it away thanks to penalties and horrible game management. Yes the weather was a factor, but this shouldn’t happen to begin with. Turns out that Todd Bowles was a mistake of a hire. Arians was the driving force. And it’s shown all year. How are the Browns even in this game? Tampa should be killing them. But if they shouldn’t even be in this game, Cleveland has a chance to tie it up. “Brissett throws, back of the endzone, WHAT A CATCH!” And then David Njoku went ham on that catch. Overtime, and obviously the Browns will win the game because Byron Leftwich is nothing without the Master of the Gatsby Hat. Oh god, now the Dawg Pound thinks they’ll make the playoffs with Watson. They have to win out to do so and they still have to play Cincy and Baltimore. Calm down boys.
Bengals vs Titans: The first test for the Bengals since the Blackout of Baltimore in Week 5. This time it’s against the team that they took the souls from last year. The question in this game is simple. Which team will make the fewest mistakes. In this game it was the Titans. Even when they score a TD, they fumble the ball and have to recover it in the end zone. Just like in the playoffs, the Titans shot themselves in the foot when it mattered. Joe Burrow was contained for most of the game, yet Tennessee didn’t take advantage of it. And the cherry on top. A personal foul on the long snapper to end the game. Cincinnati wins and inches closer to the Ravens. They needed this game because of that schedule of theirs coming up. With KC next week, they need all the help they can get.
Ravens vs Jaguars: (Prepare for endless salt)
Rams vs Chiefs: If you were to tell any football fan at the beginning of the season that this wouldn’t be a clash of titans, we’d all laugh at you. Strange things have happened in the NFL. The Rams have to pay for the price for the Super Bowl, and Matt Stafford is again out with injury. Kansas City wasn’t even that impressive yet they still won with ease. And it wasn’t Mahomes or the offense that dominated, it was the Chiefs defense. Yes LA had a backup QB, but that doesn’t mean we can’t give praise to Steve Spagnulo. Remember when the Rams said F-Them-Picks. Well this is why you can’t do that. Because if it blows up, you’re trapped. Draft picks matter, just ask the Broncos. And now LA is one loss away from elimination. What is happening with this NFL season?
Saints vs 49ers: Last week it was all about the Niners offense. In this game it was the other way around. Their defense reminded all of us, that they can be just as good if not better than the O. The Saints may not have a QB with legit talent, but that doesn’t take away the fact that they were still shut out. San Fran needs this win to extend their lead in the NFC West. Even if Jimmy G had an ok performance he didn’t need to have a great day. The 49ers were winning this no matter what. Yes REFBALL trolled New Orleans but let’s be real they were losing anyways. Their opposition didn’t even play their A game and still won. Welcome back to being Aints. It’s been far too long since the bagheads have come out.
Raiders vs Seahawks: It feels like it’s been forever since the Seahawks last played. Crazy I know. This time around they should have an easier time beating the Raiders right. Wrong! We forgot that the Autumn Wind did have some talent and optimism coming into the season. Today they flashed their potential. Even if Seattle is keeping up with quick strike touchdowns, this is Vega’ game to lose. Who cares if they failed on a 4th Down and gave up 6, Derek Carr will do everything he can to ruin Green Bay’s extra 1st Round pick. Wouldn’t you know it we need overtime to decide this because the NFL loves narratives. You know what would make this game even crazier, if CBS cut out of this game in favor of 60 Minutes. We had the Heidi Game back in 1968, now we are getting this. Do you know what both games have in common? “Jacobs, Jacobs with running room right up the middle! JACOBS IS ON HIS WAY! THE RAIDERS ARE GONNA WIN THIS GAME!” THE RRRRAIDERS! Seattle you like the Jets 54 years ago are mad that you didn’t see the collapse at the hands of the Silver and Black. At least it wasn’t in favor of a kids movie. (That same Jets team wouldn’t lose another game that season and won Super Bowl III. What will you do Carroll?)
Chargers vs Cardinals: 2 of the most inept coaching staffs enter, only one has more job security. Despite all the talent on either team, they still find ways to mess it all up. So far the Cardinals are off to a fast start. But yet again the Chargers have to be carried by Justin Herbert despite all their flaws. How are the Bolts not running away with this game? Arizona is giving them every opportunity to open up this game, and they still are trailing. The only reason it’s not worse than it already is due to Kliff Kingbury not being able to manage a game clock. And as a result, HERE I COME TO SAVE THE DAY! Brandon Staley gets bailed out once again by Herbert and the offense. They get the touchdown, and the 2 point conversion. Who hoo Bolts you beat a team that’s been dead meat and a guy who shouldn’t be near a coaching job. You won’t get away with this against legit teams. Knowing the NFL they are going to rig it for them to get in the playoffs because LA.
Packers vs Eagles: Packers this is why you needed to beat the teams you were supposed to back in October. Now you can’t expect to beat top teams at will. They tried their best to keep up with the Eagles but Philly was one step ahead of them. This was a shootout all night long. Isn’t it rare nowadays that Green Bay can’t stop anyone? That’s because of injuries on defense. I’ll give them a pass for this year but if this carries over, we have problems. Even if they won this game, I’m not sure what to think of the Eagles. They are 10-1 yes, but they still have to play Dallas, and the Giants twice. With Dem Cowboys on their necks, they need all the wins they can get. Packers I have bad news. BOOM! Aaron Rodgers is injured. And his status is unknown going forward. I would say shut him down, but not with that contract they’re giving him. You saw this with Brett Favre in 2005, and now you’re seeing it with Rodgers. And on top of that, he can go to Bucks games instead of team meetings. How much control does he have on the team? (And the Bucks lost that game to the Lakers, Bad luck charm? It’s been that way since Game 5 against Le Canadians)
Steelers vs Colts: The Yinzers know that there are few tomorrows. If they want to maintain Tomlins streak of not being under 500, they’ll need to win as many games as they can. Luckily for them they can survive an ugly game against the mess in Indianapolis. The Colts were shut down in the 1st Half, yet only trail by 6 because Blame Canada. Up 16-3, Pittsburgh should be running away with this. WRONG! Indy seized control of the game, and the Steelers took their foot off of the gas. (Yo-Yo Sound) And then Jonathan Taylor choked everything at the 1 yard line. Those missed points would come back to haunt the Colts. Yes they can take a 1 point lead, the NFL isn’t going to let Pittsburgh suck because of ratings. Or that Najee Harris had room to run all game. What happened to the Colts D? Weren’t they near the top over the past few years. Oh right their old DC is now in Chicago. It doesn’t matter, the Colts still have time. (DRAMATIC MUSIC) But then Jeff Saturday forgot he had timeouts. This is something that they teach you in middle school, and yet he still doesn’t know how much TOs he has. That cost them the game. Because not only did the Steelers stop them, that allowed them to take a knee. Do you now understand why hiring him was a mistake? It’s because he doesn’t have the savvy to be a coach at this level. Yinzers enjoy your win. These men are still not dead, and they never will be.
