Well I mean College Football is about to start up again. There are tensions growing and narratives to be shed or extended. Each of the Power 5 conferences have their own stories to share. Let’s get this over with!
SEC: Like most years the SEC is going to be a bloodbath from start to finish. Alabama is trying to defend their National Title even with the losses of some of the better offensive stars. (They once again had an outstanding recruiting class as usual) Georgia is trying to overcome last year’s embarrassment at the hands of the archrival Gators and earn their spot in the SEC Championship game. Florida meanwhile is trying to compete with a brand new offense with all 3 of their superstars from last year heading for the NFL. Auburn isn’t ranked as of Week 1 but they will be in the Top 25 in no time. Plus A&M is trying to finally get themselves into the College Football Playoff. Survey Says!

BIG10: Ohio State once again is a massive favorite to win the BIG10, they still have an elite defense and it seems that only few teams in the country have a chance at stopping them. Penn State is looking for a massive turnaround after last season’s 0-4 start. (Most of their talent that opted out last year is back) Wisconsin is on the same path as Penn State but the good news for them is that they don’t have to face anyone as good as Ohio State in their division. Michigan is also going for a bounceback season if they want any chance at saving Jim Harbaugh’s job. As for Iowa they will be in it because of their daunting home field advantage. What do the charts show us?

ACC: As expected Clemson is most likely to come in front in the ACC despite their losses on offense from last year. Especially in their division they will have very little competition to deal with as Florida State, BC, and Louisville are expected to be good but not on the same level as the Tigers. On the other side of the conference the U is favored to represent the Coastal Division in the ACC Title game and with Notre Dame back to being independent it should give them some freedom. However North Carolina is on their tails and are trying to make a statement that they are sure fire contenders this season. Let me get a count from the research department!

BIG12: Despite the turmoil between Oklahoma and Texas on moving to the SEC they as of this moment are the safe bets to make it out of the BIG12 gauntlet. Though we shouldn’t be overlooking Iowa State who had an outstanding run to the Conference Title game last year only for Lincoln Riley to school them in the final minutes. Then there is TCU and Baylor who have massive chips on their shoulders after being left for dead last year during the pandemic. Not to mention Oklahoma State is trying to regain the high flying attack that got them off to a hot start last year. Where does the wheel land?

PAC12: The PAC12 may be the weakest besides the AAC when it comes to teams competing for the College Football playoff but that hasn’t stopped teams like USC and Oregon from trying. They underachieved last year because of opt outs and few games but they are looking for blood. The same can be said about Arizona State and Washington 2 contenders trying to establish control of the conference instead of the traditional powers. UCLA and Utah are hard to get a gage on but once I see them play then I’ll know if they’re good or not. Anyways lets get to the rankings!

AAC: This conference may be the weakest of the 6 but there always is some massive storyline that pops up each year. 2 years ago it was the rise of SMU and Memphis, last year it was the collapse of Navy and the unbeaten record of Cincinnati. There are so many teams with the potential to bust out. I wonder what the pundits have in store for this dark horse conference?
