Another session of Bowl and Conference Title games have gone before us. Before we check to see who is the challenger to let’s say Sweet Home Alabama lets see how the rest of the teams did!
USC Trojans: I knew that I was going to be wrong with my predictions but like that, OH DEAR GOD! USC looked uninspiring and soft for much of the game. Sure the Oregon defense had a great game but the Trojans couldn’t take advantage of the opportunities they had. Let’s be real if they were playing Washington who should have been there if they played 5 games they would have been killed. Once again they got overhyped by the media only to fall flat on their faces, the rest of the NCAA laughs at their failure!
Iowa State Cyclones: Iowa State I know it has been a spectacular season to this point but let’s be real. You weren’t going to beat Oklahoma twice. This time they had no answers for the Sooners speed and Vertical Passing attack. Even though the Clones were coming back from a 24-7 hole Lincoln Riley’s stopped you guys in your tracks thanks to an interception to end the game like they did against Texas last year in the BIG12 Title. It sucks for you guys, but Iowa State will be back!
Northwestern Wildcats: The other Cinderella Story of College Football was taking the juggernaut of Ohio State to the limit thanks to their defense making Justin Field’s day a living hell. The bad news for the Cats was you have to take advantage of your opportunities against the Buckeyes. They turned the ball over 3 times and had no answers for Trey Sermon in the second half. It sucks for you guys but you have a great future. KEEP GOING!
Notre Dame Fighting Irish (Part 1): If you don’t know why I did 2 parts with the Irish it’s because despite this defeat they were given another chance thanks to the College Football Playoff Committee because of their huge brand. Early on it looked like they would open up the floodgates and take a 10 point lead but thanks to their kicker hitting the uprights on a chip shot field goal they lost their momentum and got crushed. Ian Book, despite his great legs was carved up by Clemson’s defense and Notre Dame couldn’t stop Trevor Lawrence and the speed of the Tigers offense. Like I said at least the Football Gods gave you leprechauns another chance. NEXT!
Florida Gators: So it wasn’t the absolute butt whooping that I expected it to be, far from it to be honest. Despite the Gators high flying offense roasting the Tide secondary, they had no chance against Mac Jones, Najee Harris, and DeVonta Smith. I know Florida fans are getting down on themselves for not knocking out Alabama but I have something to cheer you up. Kyle Trask was the 1st great QB you guys have had since Tim Tebow despite the fact that he is graduating but your freshman class next year looks promising. I hope you’re back even as a potential student at Bama. NEXT!
Tulsa Golden Hurricane: I was wrong about you guys again. My bad! Even if Cincinnati won in the end I have to give your team credit for almost pulling off perhaps the biggest victory in school history. Despite playing in the pouring rain the Golden Hurricane went back and forth with a far superior Bearcats team and took them to the limit. The bad news was that the defense couldn’t stop Demond Ridder and their offense when they had to. I know it was a painful way to end the season but I have awarded you guys the title of this year’s College Football Comeback Kids. Too bad you just couldn’t do it again that would be something.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish (Part 2): Congratulations your team STILL can’t win a New Years 6 Bowl Game! This time the Football Gods gave you a chance over Texas A&M thanks to your huge following but you were one step behind Bama and their high powered offense. I will say though it wasn’t the blowout that was expected by most experts but Brian Kelly and his team always goes down swinging. I know people are going to think that he should leave South Bend but who would they replace him with, that’s how they felt when Lou Holtz left. It sucks but you’ll be back! NEXT!
Clemson Tigers: We have discovered the solution on how to beat Trevor Lawrence and Dabo Swinney! They shall be sent to the Haunted House known as the Superdome! Despite the fact that the offense performed as advertised and Trevor Lawrence shined under the bright lights again their defense was torched by Justin Fields playing with Cracked Ribs. The main difference to last year’s playoff matchup was that Ohio State converted their redzone chances with 49 points. Dabo remember when you ranked THE BIG10 Football Factory 11th in your Top 25. That team crushed you the same way LSU did in the National Championship last year! Good luck trying to replace Lawrence next year!
Well at least the Conference Title and Bowl Games were unpredictable. There were thrillers and blowouts a plenty, anyways what is the Final!?
BOOM! Alabama vs Ohio State: Wonderful Alabama vs Ohio State, at least we won’t get Bama Clemson Round 4. In my opinion this is probably the best Finals matchup of any of the 4 teams in the playoffs because of talent, coaching, speed, skill, and determination. I know the Tide are heavy favorites and I want them to win but I think the Buckeyes will keep it close for much of the game. I’m going to say Alabama wins in a high scoring game 45-38. Please don’t tell me I jinxed myself AGAIN!
