Texans vs Lions: There is only one good thing Detroit gets every year, playing on Thanksgiving Day. In this case it’s in front of tumbleweeds and crickets because of COVID outbreak. Deshawn Watson had himself a solid performance in which he had time to throw all day and almost everyone was open. Also Matt Stafford looked cooked as he threw some bad passes, one being a pick 6 for JJ Watt. For the second year in a row the Lions have been eliminated on Turkey Day!
Lions ELIMINATED! (YOU GET NOTHING YOU LOSE GOOD DAY SIR!): Well it appears that their efforts of cloning the Patriots whole have failed and it might be time to blow it up. Hiring Matt Patrica was a bad idea and Stafford might be finished as Detroit’s QB. YOU SHOULD HAVE KEPT JIM CALDWELL FORD FAMILY!
Hogs vs Cowboys: HOW BOUT DEM COWBOYS! Nothing brings joy to the people of DC, Philly, and New York more than Dallas getting embarrassed on Thanksgiving Day in front of a national audience. Alex Smith played ok but the real story was Washington’s defense. They crushed the Red Rifle in Andy Dalton throughout the second half as the Hogs outscored Dem Boys 21-0 in the 4th. I know Stephen A Smith thinks that the NFL should move the Cowboys off the Thanksgiving Day slot every year but he would be sentenced to JerryBoys office in the meantime.
Ravens vs Steelers: YOU’VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME! Not only have the Ravens lost 3 out of 4 coming in, they have had 22 players on the COVID list since their shocking defeat at the hands of the Titans. That includes Lamar Jackson, Mark Ingram, JK Dobbins, Mark Andrews, Willie Snead, Calais Campbell, Brandon Williams, Matt Judon, Morgan Cox, and there was a rumor on Sam Koch and Justin Tucker but they are fine thank goodness. With these cases the game was flexed to Tuesday Night, make that Wednesday. OH BOY CAN WE RECREATE the 1987 Hogs upset of the Cowboys? IDK!
Browns vs Jaguars: Cleveland is starting to believe the hype AGAIN! Their arch enemy is down for the count at the moment they are playing a tanking team in the Jags and the run game looks deadly. Baker Mayfield took advantage of a soft zone Jags defense as the Browns took an early lead. I will say though the Cleveland defense can get exposed if the right team faces them let’s say the Steelers or Ravens. Despite a late comeback effort by Jacksonville the Browns escape town with an 8-3 record. The bad news for Browns fans: they get Tennessee and Baltimore next. OUCH!
Cardinals vs Patriots: I don’t care how good the Cardinals offense has been as of late Bill Belichick has basically an unbeatable record against mobile or 1st and 2nd year QBs. Even if he doesn’t have Brady or Gronk you can never take him lightly. Despite the Patriots being victimized by REFBALL for much of the game they held a 17-10 lead. Arizona though answered back by means of Kyler Murray putting together his only solid drive of the game. Well you would think that the Cards would win right. BOOM! Even if TB12 is gone the Patriots pulled another win out of their magical hats. Despite being 5-6 the Pats are only a game back of the 7 seed. Now watch them make the PLAYOFFS!
Titans vs Colts: Tennessee saw what happened the last time these 2 teams played. They got smacked on their home soil by Philip Rivers and the Colts again. This time it would be the same result… ON THE OTHER END! King Henry XII as well as AJ Brown were difficult to stop and despite the Colts having the league’s best pass defense they got torched by Ryan Tannehill all day. I wouldn’t feel too good if I were a Colts fan. Their schedule is mediocre but Rivers usually gets beat in big games. IDK!?
Panthers vs Vikings: Despite getting embarrassed on their home soil by Dallas last week. Dalvin Cook and the Vikings are looking to rebound against a Panthers team stuck in quicksand. Early on Carolina held an early lead thanks to 2 fumble return touchdowns in a matter of seconds. But remember, Kirk Cousins is a good QB against teams that are below 500. Minnesota stormed back and “HE MUFFED THE PUNT AND THE PANTHERS RECOVER IT!” I would say Classic Vikings but at least they had another chance to take the lead which they did as Cousins led his team down the field and into the lead. But Joey Slye wanted to end it right here. “Slye’s kick is NO GOOD HE MISSED IT WAY TO THE LEFT!” Minnesota is only a game back of the 7 seed. As for the Panthers YOU’RE OUT!
Panthers ELIMINATED! (YOU GET NOTHING YOU LOSE GOOD DAY SIR!): Well I will say that they are on the right track with Matt Rhule. If CMC was healthy or if they could win so many of those close games who knows what that team can do. Honestly I would regroup and get ready for a push back to playoff status.
Chargers vs Bills: Buffalo has looked pretty good over the last few games despite the lack of a national audience surrounding the team. Thanks to some trick plays from Josh Allen and the offense the Bills jumped out to an early lead. Even if the Chargers have Justin Herbert in some cases, BillsMafia was one step ahead of the Bolts. I will say though i thought the Bills would give up yet another sensational Hail Mary but the good news for them was the guy was short and they had no timeouts plus they were up by ten. That play is LA season in a nutshell, it’s ironic that they were also eliminated from the playoffs!
Chargers ELIMINATED! (YOU GET NOTHING YOU LOSE GOOD DAY SIR!): Well at least they got their QB of the future. I will stop there, another classic Chargers season in which they had issues on the O-Line again, they couldn’t close out games, and Derwin James can’t stay healthy if his life depended on it. I would say Bye Bye to Anthony Lynn too.
Raiders vs Falcons: Jon Gruden called Atlanta the best 3-7 team of all time, he was right about that statement! In this game Vegas was no match for a Falcons team that was missing Julio Jones and Todd Gurley. Well if Derek Carr didn’t turn back into the mediocre QB he was last year then they might have had a chance. They got beat 43-6 by a team that should be way better than their record. Thank goodness the Ravens could get in the playoffs if the Raiders play like this down the stretch. FYI Atlanta is only 2 games back of the 7 seed with 5 to play!
Giants vs Bengals: DID SOMEBODY SAY TANK BOWL! Big Blue has a chance to do damage! The Eagles and Cowboys have been tripping over themselves over the last few weeks plus they got to play a Bungals team without Joe Burrow. Don’t think we left you out of the injury bug because the Football Gods punished Danny Dimes. It didn’t really matter because the Cincinnati offense ran themselves into quicksand on repeat all day. With this game the Giants are now tied for 1st in the NFC East. HOW BAD COULD THIS DIVISION GET!?
Dolphins vs Jets: Miami once again had to start FitzCeption because of Tua being injured. This time he got to return to his old stomping grounds of MetLife Stadium to beat up on the team that nearly got him to the playoffs in 2015. Sam Darnold is COOKED! He is literally COOKED! Why is Adam Gase still the head coach of the Jets? In my opinion he is Hue Jackson 3 years later except with worser talent. THE NEW YORK JETS EVERYONE!
Saints vs Broncos: Oh boy we have a COVID crisis in the Broncos QB room! All 3 of their QBs on the 53 man roster tested positive or they are on the COVID list. Now they had to start a Wide Receiver at QB yep this is going to be a circus! New Orleans ran all over them thanks to Alvin Kamara and Taysom Hill at QB for the second week in a row. I think Drew Brees will have more confidence once he comes back because Hill is doing what Teddy Bridgewater did last year.
49ers vs Rams: San Francisco has the chance to gain ground on Arizona despite the injuries and get back into the playoff race. I know they played the Rams in LA but in my opinion if they play mistake free football they should win. Despite leading 17-3 for much of the game the 9ers quickly allowed the Rams to come back in the game. Even if Nick Mullens is the QB, San Fran came storming back and walked off LA on a walkoff field goal by Robbie Gould. In the next few weeks all of the pressure is on Kyler Murray.
Chiefs vs Buccaneers: Remember when we all thought the Bucs would have a Super Bowl caliber roster that would rival Kansas City? WE ALL DID! In this game the media claims that it was all Patrick Mahomes and he is going to be the GOAT in their minds. To me when you have Tyreek Hill out wide he can make any QB great even like Matt Moore last year when #15 was hurt. As for the Bucs, Tom Brady got shut down. In my opinion KC’s defense can be just as deadly as the offense. Despite Tampa Bay making adjustments in the second half to cut the deficit to 3 the Chiefs escaped PirateLand with a 10-1 record. All Chiefs fans want now is for Pittsburgh to get beat! MAKE IT HAPPEN!
Bears vs Packers: This is it! The moment every year where Matt Nagy does everything he can to keep the Bears playoff hopes alive. Not only do they have to travel to Lambeau for a Sunday Night showdown they get to face “Ticked Off” Aaron Rodgers! Chicago’s defense was no match for Green Bay’s passing attack and the Bears have now lost 5 straight after a 5-1 start. Now look at them: Terrible Play Calling, Awful Line Play, No Running Game, MITCH TRUBISKY! Now the Bears are sentenced back to the drawing board thanks TO THE MCCASKEYS! I need to do a document on this collapse when the season ends.
Seahawks vs Eagles: Philly this is why you needed to beat the Giants a few weeks ago! Because you knew this game would happen. Blame Carson Wentz all you want but in my words there are 2 reasons for the decline of the Eagles offense: Injuries and Marty Mornigweg. Us Marylanders tried telling you he was stubborn and over the hill but no you didn’t listen. You saw what he did with Lamar Jackson in that Wildcat package when Joe Flacco was the starter but you chose to go the same way. As for the defense they did ok but they were crushed by Russell Wilson and DK Metcalf. Everyone will say that DangerRuss should be in the MVP conversation but in my opinion he has played well but not good enough for MVP status. He just wants team awards. COUNT ON IT!
Now we get into the crowning of this week’s “FOOTBALL FOLLIE” KINGS! The defense especially the secondary of Southern Methodist University. In the first half of their game this past weekend against a struggling team in East Carolina the Mustangs gave up 45 points against an offense that was struggling immensely. I think that college kids in the state of Texas care more about offense than playing defense. They have all but checked out ever since they blew that lead against Tulsa plus they had a week off in between those games. My producer is a student at SMU by the way so don’t get mad at me for saying this!
