Falcons vs Panthers: There really wasn’t much to say about this game in terms of highlight reel players on both sides. The Panthers lost another game in which they should have won and the Falcons are once again proving why they want to ONCE AGAIN mess up their glorious tank. Matt Ryan played ok but in my opinion the Panthers really need Christian McCaffery back and I mean badly losing to the probable basement dweller of the division as well as dropping to 3-5 behind Tampa and New Orleans could be the death sentence to their playoff hopes. Poor Matt Rhule, he deserves better than this.
Steelers vs Ravens: The material for this game is not appropriate for Weekly Recaps, all I can say is that this game will be a total bloodbath. A matchup that might be considered the biggest regular season game in M&T Bank Stadium history features two teams that are once again trying to gain AFC North Supremacy. Tune in for the return of Charm City Beasts which for the most part is being shot live from Baltimore after a much needed week off following the recap of Week 8 in the NFL. I just can’t stand that this game isn’t a Sunday Night game!
Raiders vs Browns: Remember when everyone thought the Browns would be better without OBJ, WRONG! It appeared that Baker Mayfield went back to 2019 form and literally giftwrapped the Raiders a statement win in terms of not allowing a single touchdown. Even if Derek Carr struggled to maintain his hot start to the year, Vegas leaves the Dawg Pound with another solid win against a quality opponent. If they can beat KC again in a few weeks that would be great.
Rams vs Dolphins: Last week I claimed that the Rams and Aaron Donald would have a field day against Tua and the Dolphins that statement would be correct. Tua didn’t play that well and the Dolphins offense struggled for much of the game. But the reason Miami knocked off LA? Defense and Special Teams. Jared Goff was no match for the Phins secondary, as well as the pass rush. It’s insane that one year the Dolphins were Tanking for Tua, and now they have him and could sneak in the playoffs if the rest of the division struggles in the second half.
Patriots vs Bills: Speaking of the AFC East the Patriots are fighting for their lives. Cam Newton’s job is on the line but they have to face the division frontrunners in the Bills. For much of the game it was back and forth. The Bills had a 14-6 lead early only for New England to come back twice to tie the game at 21 before Buffalo added a late field goal and the lead. One possession could decide Bill Belichick’s fate for this season. Announcer: Newton will run it up the left side and he FUMBLES IT AGAIN! AND BUFFALO HAS IT! There goes New Englands playoff hopes with one play. I know everyone will think the Patriots dynasty is over but to me this is one of those years where they need more time to figure things out. Once they do they will be back as legit contenders.
Jets vs Chiefs: Jets this is why you don’t cut Le’Veon Bell! Because results like this from his new team will happen. This was the first game in a few weeks where no one AND I MEAN NO ONE could stop Patty Mahomes and the Chiefs speed kills offense. In this game the Ketchup King put up his first 5 touchdown pass game of the season against a defense that lacks talent and big name players. Oh right, they’re gone or injured. Well at least there is always Trevor Lawrence in the future… SIKE SIKE HE HAD COVID!
Titans vs Bengals: Cincy, can you tell me where in the world was this type of statement win found in? I know they had to change things up on defense and up front, but they looked like a very different team against a Heavyweight in the Titans. Joe Burrow not only put up big numbers, he also led the Bengals to their first huge win in the Zac Taylor era. Even though their defense let King Henry run over them for much of the game, they didn’t Bungle the game unlike weeks past. Speaking of Burrow he is making a bold prediction for the Bungles. THEY’RE GOING TO MAKE THE PLAYOFFS LOL!
Colts vs Lions: Indianapolis I must congratulate you on putting the Lions back in their place after their fans were talking about ONCE AGAIN the glories of 10-6. Philip Rivers was given comfort by a running back doing his best Simone Biles impersonation after 2 touchdown runs and running over Detroit’s defense. Matt Stafford was again victimized by a team over 500 in a game the Lions needed to win to keep up with the big boys in the division, at least there is still time for a playoff push.
Vikings vs Packers: This type of a game is why I never became a Packers fan when I lived in Wisconsin for 6 years. Aaron Rodgers either plays really well or he gets humiliated by a team that has nothing to play for. In this game they got smacked by a Vikings defense that just traded their star pass rusher and lost several defensive stars to injury too. But to me the Packers main concern was the defense. They had no answers for Dalvin Cook playing on 1 leg. He torched them for 4 touchdowns and nearly 200 all purpose yards. The only good news for Wisconsin fans is that the COVID cases in the state have gone slightly down, but let’s see how their rivals from the Windy City are doing.
Saints vs Bears: Chicago had the chance to overtake Green Bay for first place in the high powered NFC North with a win over a Super Bowl contender in the Saints. This game is what I call “WHO WANTS TO COMEBACK FROM A 10 POINT DEFICIT! First it was New Orleans led by Drew Brees torching the secondary of Da Bears and giving Who Dat Nation 20 straight points as the Saints led 23-13. But Chicago led by St Nick the Great Foles, Da Bears came back to tie the game at 23 to force overtime. Both teams would try to pull out the win but couldn’t do it until the final minute of OT Announcer: “Lutz’s kick is on the way and GOOD!” Once again New Orleans wins a close game that one team had to lose. GREAT GAME THOUGH!
Chargers vs Broncos: I wouldn’t call this a tank bowl but whoever loses would be in that spot. In this case the Chargers just like most of their games this year took an early lead led by Justin Herbert as well as LAs defense stuffing Denver. The Bolts at one point had a 98.5% chance at victory up 21-3. BOOM! THE SAN DIEGO LUCK HAS RETURNED LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! The Broncos offense unlocked its talents and abilities and stormed back to make this a close affair. Even if the Chargers tried to put the game away Denver would come back again and again. The question is would it be enough? Announcer: “Lock rolls out to the right and throws it into the endzone and it’s incomplete… NO THEY CALL IT A TOUCHDOWN!” The Broncos officially have reentered the Wild Card hunt with 3 wins in 4 games. Charger fans I have 3 words for you TAKE THAT SPANOS!
49ers vs Seahawks: San Fran Welcome to the Revenge Factor Scale! After the Seahawks got robbed last year by REFBALL! They scorched your defense with the powers of DangerRuss and Donkey Kong! Not even the run game of the 9ers could stop this runaway train from getting back on course after losing to Arizona last week. Lets see what the Injury Gods have for you? Jimmy G and George Kittle leaving the game early with another key injury that could cost them a playoff spot. MORE SACRIFICES TO THE FOOTBALL GODS! MORE!!!
Cowboys vs Eagles: Here is a phrase that hasn’t been used on Sunday Night Football in a long time: TANK BOWL! The only reason this was the night game was because of Dem Cowboys and Jerry Jones running the league in some cases. Dallas was missing their top 2 QBs and the Eagles were missing speed at receiver and corner. THIS GAME IS ALSO AN INJURY BOWL! The winner of both of those was Dem Boys as the Eagles brick wall stopped Dallas all night long and gave Philly a comfortable lead in the weak NFC East. I think Philly will get a winning record nonetheless.
Buccaneers vs Giants: Tom Brady vs his kryptonite in the Meadowlands on a Monday Night. This kind of game to me is classic Giants. Get a lead at halftime, don’t blow anyone away, play not to lose, AND THEN CHOKE IT ALL IN THE FINAL STAGES! Even though New York led 14-6 at the break the Bucs stormed back to take the lead 25-17 with a minute left. Danny Dimes put together his first great clutch drive in his career. Guiding Big Blue down the field and throwing a touchdown to Golden Tate to bring them within 2. All eyes are on the 2 point conversion. Announcer: “Jones throwing for it and it is KNOCKED AWAY” WHAT AM I HEARING THIS RIGHT! They picked up the flag after one ref threw it. LET ME GUESS THE NFL IS DOING EVERYTHING THEY CAN FOR THE BUCS TO WIN! This is the exact same call as well as resetting the game clock that they missed earlier this weekend in Baltimore. All I can say is that the NFL wants a Bucs Steelers Super Bowl! LOVELY!
